News to Start the Week 6/11/12

General Interest:
The Casper Star Tribune reported that Grizzly bears have been spotted near Lander, WY.  This is another sign that Grizzlies are pushing their range further South.
The National Parks Traveler posted that Rocky Mountain National Park is accepting design proposals for their centennial logo. There is a prize of $3,000 for the winner. I’ll be sending in some stick figures I drew on a napkin, how about you?

Southeast Wyoming:
-Portions of Barber Lake Road West of Centennial are closed for hazardous tree removal.
-There two Major fires North of Wheatland, the Cow Camp Fire, Near Laramie Peak and a Fire at Guernsey State Park.

Northern Colorado:
-Current trail closures due to fire are: Hewlett Gulch Trail, Greyrock trail and Young Gulch Trail.
-If you aren’t following the High Park Fire you should be. The InciWeb site is always the best place to go for up to date and accurate information.

Just Trails Updates:
-Last week we added two trails.  If you are hiking near Fort Collins check out Mount Margaret. If on the other hand you are hiking near Laramie check out Sheep Mountain.
